Since 2017, Culver Public Relations has coordinated a campaign with Merriman Anderson/Architects to celebrate National Random Acts of Kindness Day by passing out food and coffee to the residents and commuters in downtown Dallas.
National Random Acts of Kindness Day is a non-profit organization intended to spread kindness through school, communities and homes, and believes in the power of kindness to change the way people see and experience the world.
Culver Public Relations developed the event idea and recommended it to Merriman Anderson/Architects. Once they approved, a strategy was developed to reach out to local broadcast media about Random Acts of Kindness Day and the activation taking place in Downtown Dallas by a local business. Media advisories and materials were written and sent to targeted local media for televised and online news coverage.
RESULTS: In 2017, KDAF-TV (CW) and KDFW-TV (FOX) aired a televised segment of the event. The CW segment was added to a national Random Acts of Kindness news story. In 2018, KTVT-TV (CBS) aired the story during their news.
Most importantly, the Client’s employees loved participating in the event and it has become something they look forward to doing each year. The second year, they asked for more holidays they can “celebrate” with in front of their office with other downtown residents and workers.
